EXHIBITIONS

The Museum of Broken Relationships has a permanent exhibition in Zagreb, a traveling exhibition that tours the world, and an online collection accessible through its website.

Its traveling exhibitions have broken records. In 2014, during its stay in Mexico, there were 1,500 donations and more than 1,000 visitors in one week. It will soon be presented in Brussels, where citizens are invited to participate by donating objects that represent their emotional stories.

Due to the limited space of the museum and ongoing donations, the founders have created a virtual archive where donors can upload images and documents related to their stories. Donors decide whether their personal collections are public or private. The museum also offers an interactive space called Confessional, where visitors can record confessions, store messages or objects, always anonymously.

AWARDS

In 2011, it received the prestigious Kenneth Hudson Award from the European Museum Forum, which recognized it as the most innovative museum in the world for its unusual and bold approach to the role of museums in society.
